What It's All About

What are the benefits of therapeutic music and sound healing?

Current research supports the use of music and sound to encourage relaxation of the body and mind; to promote the self-healing work of the immune system, and to enhance receptivity to medical treatment.

What is therapeutic music and sound healing?

Therapeutic music and sound healing is a modality that allows individuals who are ill or dying to hear and receive live music and therapeutic sound on physical, psychosocial and spiritual levels in order to promote health and well-being or a peaceful transition.  Individuals are enabled to bring forth inner resources to activate the healing process.  These practices date back to Pythagoras of Ancient Greece, who is known as the "Father of Sound Medicine".

Our certified music practitioners travel to the bedside of the sick and dying.

Our trained music practitioners are all certified by nationally recognized programs and are insured.

When do we use therapeutic music and sound healing?

The multidimensional healing qualities of music and sound are useful from birth to death and in all aspects of health and well-being.  Research shows how sound and music:

  • Diminish and relieve pain by increasing endorphin levels;
  • Reduce blood pressure and heart rate and stabilize breathing;
  • Boost immune system functioning;
  • Relieve anxiety and encourage relaxation;
  • Generate a sense of safety and well-being;
  • Assist the dying person in the final tasks of transition.
